EDUCATION: Minnesota is built on a foundation of good education for all. We must implement a concerted plan to give the best possible opportunities to all of our children. This includes universal access to quality pre-K, all day kindergarten, increased state aid for rural and inner-city schools, and tuition credits for all Minnesota graduates attending Minnesota schools.
TAXES: Middle class Minnesotans pay more of their income in state taxes than those at the top of the economic ladder. This is not the Minnesota Way. We need a tax code that reduces property tax, increases incentives for working families and creates tax equality without punishing opportunity.
ENVIRONMENT: We must leave Minnesota better than we found it. We need a complete overhaul of the Pollution Control Authority to make the continued health of our water, air and land a priority. With best practices and firm regulation, we can make Minnesota the cleanest, greenest and most efficient economy in the world.
WORK: I believe in work. Everyone deserves a good job — with benefits. We must work to make sure that our health care system, our tax code and our transportation system helps all Minnesotan’s find productive, stable, and rewarding employment.
ENERGY: Minnesota is blessed with many things, but hydrocarbon is not one of them. We must work with our neighbors to the west to insure a clean, abundant source of energy for our state. At the same time we must take full advantage of our tremendous wind potential to help lower pollution and decrease our reliance on outside sources of power.
